Baby Kangaroo

Did that title grab your attention? Who doesn't love a baby kangaroo? Okay, I know there are some people who probably don't care but I'm not one of them. 

So, why the title? I got to hold a baby kangaroo this week!! He was the sweetest little animal. I now want one hahaha Yeah my husband didn't think it was a great idea either 😉 Maybe one day!

You might be asking "Where did I get to do something like this?". I work in an elementary school and an Education Program from the Barn Hill Preserve out of Delaware brought a few of their animals to our schools. They did a fantastic job. The students even had the opportunity to get their picture with a few of the animals. An excellent program. You should check them out http://www.barnhillpreserve.com/

You might not know this about me, but I like to put a lot about my life and my friends into my books in subtle ways. For example: in Imagination Destination, the two main characters, Kali and Tuxedo, are my real cats. If you look real close to one of the illustrations you will see real pictures of them in frames. The baby kangaroo has officially made his way into my current work in progress.

Happy Grandparents Day

I was very close to my grandma and grandpa but both have now gone to Heaven. I will never forget them or how special they were to me. Today is the day to show your grandparents just how special they are to you. Tell them you love them, create a card, take them to a special place. It really doesn't matter, all that matters is that you spend some time with them to show them you care.


This past school year, I was lucky enough to work with the McQuade family on a school project. Mary McQuade is the founder of Grandparents day and is from my hometown. My students had a great experience. Some of their cards were chosen and turned into real cards by the McQuade family. They are selling them around our town and are hoping to expand soon. The proceeds go to our school. It has been an amazing project to be a part of.

Back to School

It's that time of the year again. Fall is around the corner and kids and teachers are heading back to school.  Where did summer go?  It seems like it went by really fast.  I would like a rewind please.

What is your favorite season?  I like all of them for all different reasons but summer is my favorite.  I like the hot temps, wearing shorts and tee's and not having to bundle up just to go outside. 

I'm not ready to head back for the new school year but ready or not it is time.  I got quite a bit accomplished this summer but there is still so much more I would have liked to done.  I have my ideas for my next children's book and a friend of mine and I are beginning work on our first novel! I'm very excited and will share more about it later on as it progresses.

If I am quiet for a while, be patient with me please, it's going to be crazy hectic for a while.  You can always chat with me on Facebook or Twitter.

Summer Vaca

It can not be July 31st already!!!  Noooooo!!!! Where did Summer go?  I am not ready to return back to the full time gig.  I am having a great summer!  How about you?  I went on vacation, got the formatting done on my next book, painted a few paintings where I tried out a new paint medium, which I love by the way, and got caught up on my tbr summer book list :) Did I mention I love summer? 

My internet has not been reliable this summer at all but I did finally manage to get my website updated.  I added my new books, coloring sheets, and an illustration gallery.  Go ahead and check it out.  Head on over to my Facebook page or Twitter and let me know what you think.

This weekend the town I am from is having their annual summer festival.  I am going to set up a table and hopefully sell some of my paperbacks.  It should be a fun time.

Summer is Here!

Do you love summer or do you prefer another season? I love all the seasons but summer is my favorite. I'm so glad to have a break from work. I now have time to work on some projects around the house, catch up on cleaning ( not so fun lol ) reading, and my favorite, painting. I have already finished one I was working on for a friend of mine.

New Release!

I'm so excited to announce the news of my latest release,"Bullies? No Worries!"!  This is my third children's book. Wow! Still feels like a dream. I am so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life who support me. Throughout this journey, I have met so many talented, nice, supportive authors and illustrators. I wouldn't know what to do without them!

Paperbacks Are Here!

Busy, busy, busy! That's how I've been! How about you? I am glad the weather is getting warmer and I'm able to be outside more. I'm looking forward to the end of this school year and summer vacation to start. I have so many projects I want to start! My brain just will not stop with all the ideas haha Good thing I have a notebook to jot all these ideas down. 

Right now my main project is getting my third book, Bullies? No Worries!, published! The formatting is done and sent in to my publisher :) Hoping it's out on Amazon soon! I will keep you updated.

Next weekend, May 9th, I will be attending a Spring Bash at the Greenbrier Public Library in Lewisburg, West Virginia. There will be over 20 vendors there including authors, crafts and much more! I'm excited to go :D  I have my book Imagination Destination out in paperback now and of course I will have copies to autograph and buy!! Hope to see you there! 2015 Ups and Downs

    It's been a month since I blogged.....yikes! I've been so busy, is it really February already?  So far 2015 has had a lot of ups and downs.  We had an unexpected death in our family here recently.  It took everyone by surprise and she will be dearly missed but never forgotten.  

     I do have some good news to share, I have officially completed the illustrations for a project I had been working on for another author. This book was a challenge for me but I completed it and the author loved them :D Hoping it will be out soon. I will share more about it later on. Don't forget to follow me on Facebook for the latest updates. I'm also on Twitter and Google +  I feel very proud because this was the first project I did that wasn't my own book.  

My next project will be working on the formatting and getting my third book out on Amazon.  I'm excited, this time around I get to complete this step on my own. I'm sure I'll be pestering my publishing company with questions hahaha but hey I'm learning here.

Happy 2015

Can you believe it's 2015?  It's going to take me till June at least to stop writing 2014 lol.  I had a great Christmas with my family and celebrated a new year with my husband.  2014 was a wonderful year because I had a dream of mine come true, I became a published author!  I now have two children's book out, one in paperback, my third book sent to publishers and a fourth book I am currently working on with a fellow author friend of mine.  I have also been nominated for best children's book of 2014 :D It's going to be an exciting new year!
