Tis the Season...

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!  Can you believe Christmas is right around the corner? Eek!  It sure did swoop in fast.  This Thanksgiving I was very thankful for so many things in my life even when there are some things I would love to change.  I have been so fortunate to meet a bunch of wonderful children book authors and illustrators through social media.  They are the most kindest, and supportive friends.  Together we formed a giveaway for the holidays.  The prize is a $500 Amazon gift card!  The contest will run till December 15th so be sure to head on over to my website for more details.  While you're there check out all the AMAZING kid lit authors who made this exciting contest possible.  

I finally got my drawing tablet working again....FINALLY! It's been down since summer and I haven't known what to do with myself.  I'm crossing my fingers it stays working.  In celebration of this, I put all my ebooks on sale this week for $1.99 so if you don't have them now would be the time to gobble them up. Hehehe. Un-Ordinary Summer

It's been a while since my last blog post but this summer was definitely not in the norm.  I self-published in May which was a proud moment for me, finished out the school year and summer vacation began.  I began it with a much needed vacation and I even let my wonderful hubby tag along. We we got back, the very next week my state of WV experienced a devastating flood that hit several towns very hard, including mine.  There was a tremendous amount of generosity found with the all the donations, help, and volunteers that we had and came from all over the United States. It is going to be a very long recovery with big changes ahead. The new school year is about to begin and will be chaotic to say the least since we lost three of our county schools due to the damage the flood inflicted. We will stay strong and come back with as much good as we can make out of this situation. 

On top of everything I have been working on a new book idea!  I've been wanting to take my love of the ocean and turn it into a book one day, just wasn't sure how I wanted to approach. I think I have figured it out :)  Now I need to get my tablet computer working again, it seems to want to act as crazy as the events of summer have been.

I Am Officially....

Bet you can come up with many ways to finish that title but........

 Drum roll please........I am officially self-published!! It has been a lot of work but after a while I finally did learn some shortcuts that hopefully I remember when I get another book ready for publishing, haha.  I couldn't have done it without the advice and encouragement from some amazing friends of mine.  I did have to take the interactive part of my book World of Color away, which was a complete bummer, but maybe someday I will get to add it back on and possibly make my other books interactive as well. Dream big, right? 

So now my next step is promoting......which is harder than formatting I think and trust me that is a pain.  I am asking anyone who will take pity on me to help out. Please share my book links, leave a review or anything else you can to help. Anything you can think of is much appreciated!  If you have any tips, just find me on Facebook.

Making Progress!

Hey!  So, with my last blog post you learned my publishing company closed its doors.  I have decided to self-publish my books and then possibly look at other companies.  This also means having to reformat all my books, which since I also have a full time job that is mentally exhausting, takes a while. I do however have one book finished!  So I am proud that I am making progress and hopefully get my books back on Amazon in no time.  Be sure to check out my Facebook page for updates.  

Little Setback.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Back in January we got word that Beau Coup Publishing is closing their doors. I have decided to self publish my books so I've been busy doing research. My books as of February 1st will be temporarily off Amazon. I am going to work hard to get them back on as soon as possible! I am also looking into other venues as well. It looks to be quite an adventure. I haven't ruled out another publishing company. I will definitely keep my eyes open but as for now I'm going on my own. Wish me luck and please be patient with me.
