I think this is a cool idea but I have yet to try it out myself. If you do, let me know what you think about it.
Virtual Field Trips
These are some of my favorite lessons in my classroom. I am a shark lover as you may or may not know, so the Georgia Aquarium and their live webcams is a staple in my class and home. I love all of their cameras.
Make on FB
This page on FB is offering free art lessons. I want to try these out myself!

So much fun for any age.

If you want to talk to me about what videos I love or the ones that are good for cardio, a warm up, balance etc, leave me a comment or find me on FB.
Here is their Workout Challenge if you want to give it a try.

This has turned my world upside down. I am an extrovert who enjoys being around people and am use to almost daily outings, even just running to the store for a simple task. Now, we are under mandate to stay inside unless necessary to leave. I love these ideas for the kids they look fun, especially the fluffy paint project. Wishing you the best and a safe time through it all.
ReplyDeleteHang in there girl, we'll make it through. Hugs!
DeleteI think so many people will relate to your observation that things are changing so quickly, you can't even make plans. That's certainly been the case for us here in California. Just Thursday, the governor issued a stay-at-home order that turned our lives upside down once again. Love all your suggestions for those with children at home as well as for the rest of us. Plan to try your Refit Revolution suggestion! Thanks for sharing all your tips to help all of us get through these trying times.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Hang in there!! Stay healthy and safe!
DeleteI love the section with fun ideas for the kiddos that doesn't involve a screen. I'll be looking into that since we have a 2 year old daughter. It is true that we are living in some pretty bizarre times, but with the right approach and mindset, I think we can come out of the other end with most of our sanity intact.
ReplyDeleteIt will be hard but I agree, we can make it through. However, I am an elementary school teacher so my sanity has been gone for years. Hahaha.
DeleteHow sweet of you to think of how all your students will get through this and providing things for them to do. I know they will all miss you terribly, Rebecca.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to share your fun activities with my family, friends, and fans.
Stay safe and take care. Thank you so much again.
There is so much out there right now, which is great, so I shared the things I liked the best. Glad you liked them. Hugs!
DeleteGeez, Rebecca, your students are lucky to have you as your art teacher. Our gov here in North Carolina just announced that schools will be closed until 15 May and suspect many educators and parents with at-home kids will be scrambling for educational activities. Will share on my 'hood's FB page as we have a gazillion children living here.
ReplyDeleteIt took me forever to read your blog - but that's a good thing b/c I kept clicking on all the tempting links you posted and got distracted. Thanks for the recco's. Which of the workout vids do you suggest for balance? Strength?
Stay well!
We don't have a set date yet to when we may go back. So who knows what they will have us do in the coming weeks. It changes sometimes twice a day. Very frustrating.
DeleteI'm really glad you liked my suggestions. I tried to create a collection of my favorite things. For the Refit videos, I would suggest Invincible, Flashlight, Hard Love, and right now during their daily challenge videos you will find ones for streching, kickboxing and more. I did the stretching one yesterday and it felt amazing!
